The Ardán report defines a “Smart Company” as one that excels in merging its business capabilities with the ability to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the years ahead. This study is conducted by Ardán, a specialized company in business information services, operating under the Department of Advanced Services of the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium. To begin the ranking process, an initial selection of 1,200 Galician companies is chosen as potential candidates. Various variables are then analyzed across this group of companies to determine their inclusion in the ranking.
INTENSITY IN INNOVATION
The term “Intensity in Innovation” refers to the proportion of investment in research and development (R&D&i) compared to the total revenue of the company.
LEVEL OF INTERNATIONALIZATION
The level of internationalization is determined by the percentage of sales that the company generates from foreign markets.
EFFORT IN HUMAN CAPITAL
Factors such as training, motivation, communication, and work environment are considered when assessing the effort in human capital.
GENDER BALANCE
This category evaluates the company’s dedication and commitment to achieving gender equality.
INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY
The company’s sense of community is evaluated by considering its adherence to ethical behaviours.
COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
This variable focuses on aspects related to the company’s environmental management, serving as an indicator of its commitment to environmental sustainability.
COOPERATION WITH CUSTOMERS
The evaluation of cooperation with customers involves analyzing the use of online tools, user experience, and satisfaction surveys.
COOPERATION WITH SUPPLIERS
The assessment of cooperation with suppliers is based on practices such as providing technical assistance, establishing effective communication channels, conducting management meetings, and fostering long-term relationships.
FINANCIAL PROFIT
The financial profit variable is determined by calculating the financial profitability of the company over the past three years. This calculation involves measuring the ratio between the annual profit after taxes and the company´s equity.
Taking these 9 variables into consideration, we have obtained a score of 795 out of 1000, placing us at the 20th position among 779 companies in the ranking. We have achieved the highest score in important areas such as human capital effort and gender equality, which are top priorities for Arce Clima. These are areas we diligently work on every day, continuously setting new goals.
