Kingspan & Arce Clima, a winning joint venture

10 July 2017
Panels Kingspan for air conditioning

We use the panels supplied by Kingspan who are specialists in panel manufacturing for constructions and advanced solutions for buildings.

Manufacturing process of Kool duct with Kingspan panels

Kool duct manufacturing process is performed on site which allows for being able to adapt to the modifications which may arise during the installation.

In order to be able to work in a comfortable and tidy manner, the Kingspan panels are placed on a folding and sticking table so a wide range of artisan pieces can be made in order to overcome setbacks, project updates and unexpected work elements.

Tools needed to make the ducts on site are:

  • Aluminum tape
  • Silicone
  • Folding machine
  • Tiger clips
  • Set of blades
  • Die cutter

It is a very quick process so as once the piece has been measured and the panel has been cut, the workers put the pieces together with tiger clips and aluminum tape.

This way of manufacturing ducts on site makes us be one step forward than the typical and classic metal duct installations as this process allows great flexibility and a large number of possibilities.

Thus, a wide range of pieces can be manufactured on site. The main ones are:

1. Bend (45º or 90º)
2. Reductions
3. Twin bend
4. Diversion in order to deal with existing beams in the building.
5. Rectangular or square ducts, depending on the installation needs.

The sealing process

Due to the fact than these ducts are much lighter than the typical metal ducts, the assembly process is a lot more simple and can be carried out with less workers.

It is possible to move pieces quicker and with more agility so the ducts can be installed in less time and at a lower cost.

The outcome: manufacturing and assembly time ratios are quicker so installations can be tackled in a more efficient and flexible way as well as we are able to respond immediately to potential changes in the design of the installation.
