The Organic Law 3/2007 of March 22 for the Effective Equality between women and men has become a lever for change in the face of a new corporate culture, guiding organizations towards real equality of opportunities between men and women.
This Law also aims to eradicate any type of discrimination based on sex.
Since the beginning of Arce Clima, much before the Equality Law, we have been pioneers in providing an egalitarian culture, providing male and female workers better working conditions, being the reconciliation measures the most outstanding and valued by the people who work in the company.
These measures are based on the values of the organization, on which a management based on ethical conduct is based, acting with professionalism, moral integrity, loyalty and respect for people, regardless of their gender.
The reconciliation measures encompass family, personal and work life. We offer some measures like the intensive working day during summer, Friday afternoons, and festive eves.
In those cases in which the functions of the position allow it, workers can benefit from the flexible hours policy, adapting their working hours to their own needs.
We would like to share two coworkers experience, who perform their job in different positions, and tell us how the reconciliation measures help them.
Zeltia Regueiro
Zeltia Regueiro works in the Fire Protection Dpt., and she has entered the team recently. She has more than 7 years of experience in the industry, after conducting studies on Engineering of Roads, Canals and Ports, in addition to having several Masters in the area of Safety, Quality and Environment. She tells us about her experience:
“Arce Clima is a Good company to strike a balance between work and your personal life. We have an intensive working day on Friday and on summer months, holiday eve and holidays. In addition, during the working hours you can choose between eating in one hour or in two hours, and finish your working day at 17:30, and having the choice of combining it with language and training”.
María Calviño
Our coworker María Calviño has studies as a Senior Technician in Risk Prevention. About to turn 4 years after she started working here, she is currently part of the Department of People and Equipment, in which she coordinates her office work with site visits to control preventive compliance. At the same time, she is in charge of organizing the training of the company’s staff. María talks about her experience in the company, and says:
“Arce Clima provides a series of measures for the reconciliation of work and personal life, which I haven´t experienced in other companies. For me, although during the week I live near the workplace, my family lives far away, and having an intensive shift on Fridays and during the summer implies more time to be able to be with them. This also means having more time to keep growing personally and professionally. Also, being able to choose between working at the office or doing home office, which is a great relief, particularly given the current circumstances we are going through. For all that, I believe this type of measures make a good working environment and increase the workers mood that perceive the professional not as an obstacle for their personal life”.
